ABOUT US

Mission: To help end hunger by feeding God’s children in body and spirit by providing healthy nourishing meals and hope to children, families, homeless and elderly who are in living in poverty or at risk of hunger.

 

Vision: Is to become a powerful change agent by breaking the cycle of poverty and ending hunger by providing nutritious meals, hope, empowerment and education to those in need.

Our Founder:   

 

 

Proverbs 31:20 "She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy". The founder of Feed My Children, Karen Wright is a native of Dallas, Texas.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Service Management and Leadership, and a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences with a minor in Sociology from the University of North Texas and received her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington.  Karen is a Licensed Master Social Worker and has a Certification in Nonprofit Management and Leadership.  She currently works as a School Based Mental Health Social Worker providing social, emotional and mental health services to high school students. She previously served as Clinical Family Support Specialist serving homeless children and families for 7 years. Karen is passionate about helping and serving others, and exemplifies what it means to be a servant leader.  While serving homeless children and families, Karen became concerned about the increase growth of hunger and poverty in Dallas and surrounding areas and wants to bring awareness, and solutions that make an impact to help end hunger and poverty in the community and thus Feed My Children was organized.
